Introduction
SP4502 is a single-chip solution specifically designed for power banks, integrating a synchronous switch charging module, a synchronous boost discharge management module, a battery gauge and LED indicator module, and a protection module. The chip incorporates built-in charging and discharging power MOSFETs, supporting a maximum charging current of 2.5A and a synchronous boost output current of 2.1A. It employs a patented adaptive charging current technology for compatibility with low-current adapters, and eliminates external power-setting resistors through a patented control scheme, thereby reducing power consumption and system cost. The chip integrates multiple protection features, including temperature compensation, over-temperature protection, overcharge and over-discharge protection, output overvoltage protection, output heavy-load protection, and output short-circuit protection, ensuring the safety of both the chip and the Li-ion battery. Its application circuit is straightforward, requiring only a minimal number of external components to achieve complete charge and discharge management.
