Introduction
The CMT10XXX is an electrically isolated CAN transceiver compliant with ISO 11898-2 (2016). The device offers ±70V DC bus fault protection and a ±30V common-mode voltage range. It supports data rates up to 5Mbps in CAN FD mode, enabling faster payload transmission compared to Classic CAN. The device uses a silicon dioxide insulation barrier, capable of withstanding 5000V<sub>RMS</sub> isolation voltage and 1060V<sub>RMS</sub> working voltage. EMC performance is significantly enhanced, achieving system-level ESD, EFT, and surge protection while meeting radiated emissions standards. When used with an isolated power supply, the device withstands high-voltage transients and prevents noise currents on the bus from entering the local ground. The device is available in basic and reinforced isolation options. It supports a wide ambient temperature range of –40°C to +125°C and is offered in (WB) SOIC16, DUB8, and SOW8L packages.
