Introduction
The CD4053A analog switch is a digitally controlled multiplexer/demultiplexer analog switch featuring low on-resistance and low off-state leakage current. The switch can handle analog signal amplitudes up to 15V peak-to-peak. For example, with VDD = 5V, GND = 0V, and VSS = -5V, analog signals ranging from -5V to +5V can be controlled and transmitted via digital signals in the 0V to +5V range. This device is a triple 2-to-1 bidirectional analog switch, functionally equivalent to three SPDT switches. It contains three independent binary digital control inputs (SEL1, SEL2, SEL3) and one enable (EN) input. The binary digital control signal selects either of the two analog channels to be placed in the on-state. When the EN input is logic high ("1"), all three 2-to-1 analog switch channels are disabled; when logic low ("0"), all channels are enabled. The product is available in SOP-16, DIP-16, TSSOP-16, QSOP-16, and QFN-16 package options. For reliable operation, it is recommended to connect a 0.1μF to 10μF decoupling capacitor between VSS and GND.
