SN74LVC/LVCH16T245 is a 16-bit dual-supply bus transceiver with 3-state outputs, supporting bidirectional voltage-level translation. The device can be configured as two 8-bit transceivers or one 16-bit transceiver. It features dual supplies (VCC(A) and VCC(B)) for voltage translation and two 8-bit I/O ports (nAn and nBn), each with its own output enable (nOE) and transmit/receive input (nDIR) for direction control. Both VCC(A) and VCC(B) can operate at any voltage between 1.2V and 5.5V, making the device suitable for translation between any low-voltage nodes (1.2V, 1.5V, 1.8V, 2.5V, 3.3V, and 5.0V). Port nAn, nOE, and nDIR are powered by VCC(A); port nBn is powered by VCC(B). When nDIR is HIGH, data is transmitted from nAn to nBn. When DIR is LOW, data is transmitted from nBn to nAn. The output enable input (nOE) can be used to disable the outputs for effective bus isolation. IOFF makes the device fully suitable for applications with partial power-down. The IOFF circuit disables the outputs to prevent any damaging backflow current through the device during power-off. In suspend mode, when VCC(A) or VCC(B) is at GND level, both the nAn and nBn ports are in a high-impedance state. The SN74LVCH16T245 incorporates a bus-hold circuit that retains unused or floating inputs at a valid logic level.
