Introduction
The TLC1543C and TLC1543I are CMOS 10-bit switched-capacitor successive-approximation ADCs. These devices feature three inputs and one three-state output (chip select CS, I/O CLOCK, ADDRESS input, and DATA OUT), enabling direct 4-wire interface with the serial port of a host processor. These devices allow high-speed data transfer from the host. In addition to high-speed analog-to-digital conversion and versatile control capability, these devices incorporate an on-chip 14-channel multiplexer that can select any one of 11 analog inputs or any one of three internal self-test voltages. The sample-and-hold function is automatic. At the end of conversion, the end-of-conversion (EOC) output goes high to indicate conversion completion. The converter integrated in the device has a differential high-impedance reference input, facilitating ratiometric conversion, scaling, and isolation of the analog circuitry from logic and supply noise. The switched-capacitor design allows low-error conversion over the full operating free-air temperature range.
