The ISL3152 is a half-duplex high-speed transceiver for RS-485/RS-422 communications, integrating one driver and one receiver. It features fail-safe, overvoltage protection, overcurrent protection, and overtemperature protection, with hot-swap capable inputs on the /RE and DE ports. The low slew rate driver reduces EMI and reflections caused by improper cable termination, enabling error-free data transmission at up to 500 kbps. Operating at 5V supply in half-duplex, low-power, low slew rate mode, it fully complies with TIA/EIA-485 standard requirements. It includes one driver and one receiver, both independently enable/disable controlled. When both are disabled, the driver and receiver outputs enter high-impedance state. With 1/8 unit load, up to 160 transceivers can be connected on the same communication bus. The operating voltage range is 4.75~5.25V, with fail-safe, overtemperature protection, current limiting protection, overvoltage protection, and hot-swap capable control port inputs. It offers excellent ESD protection: HBM ±15KV, contact discharge per IEC61000-4-2 ±15KV.
