Introduction
ST3485EBDR is an RS-485 transceiver operating from a 3.0V to 5.5V wide supply voltage, with bus port ESD protection up to 15kV HBM, bus voltage tolerance of ±15V, half-duplex, low-power operation, fully compliant with TIA/EIA-485 standard requirements. The ST3485EBDR integrates one driver and one receiver, both of which can be independently enabled or disabled. When both are disabled, the driver and receiver outputs enter a high-impedance state. The ST3485EBDR features 1/8 unit load, allowing up to 256 ST3485EBDR transceivers to be connected in parallel on the same communication bus. Error-free data transmission at up to 14Mbps is supported. The ST3485EBDR operates at 3.3V and provides fail-safe, current-limiting protection, and overvoltage protection.
