Introduction
MAX3485ED is a RS-485 transceiver operating from a 3.0V~5.5V wide supply voltage, with bus port ESD protection up to 15kV (HBM), bus voltage range of ±15V, half-duplex, low-power operation, fully compliant with TIA/EIA-485 standard requirements. MAX3485ED includes one driver and one receiver, both independently enable/disable controllable. When both are disabled, the driver and receiver outputs are in high-impedance state. MAX3485ED features 1/8 unit load, allowing up to 256 MAX3485ED transceivers to be connected in parallel on the same communication bus. Error-free data transmission up to 14Mbps is achievable. MAX3485ED operates at 3.3V with fail-safe, current limiting protection, and overvoltage protection features.
