Introduction
MT6826 is a new-generation high-speed, high-precision angle encoder IC based on advanced anisotropic magnetoresistance technology. The chip integrates two pairs of AMR Wheatstone bridges arranged at 45° to each other as the sensing elements, along with a high-performance dedicated signal processing circuit. Since AMR devices operate in the saturation region when used for angle measurement applications, the chip responds only to changes in the direction of the magnetic field parallel to the chip surface during actual operation, independent of magnetic field strength. Therefore, MT6826 imposes relatively low requirements on magnet machining tolerances and magnet-to-chip mounting distance errors during use. MT6826 provides incremental ABZ output interface as an alternative to traditional photoelectric encoders, with a maximum incremental output resolution of 1024 pulses/revolution or 4096 steps/revolution. MT6826 also provides incremental UVW output with resolution supporting 1~16 pole pairs/revolution. MT6826 offers a 12-bit resolution PWM output, through which users can obtain angle data. Via the 4-wire SPI interface, users can program the chip's output resolution, zero point, and other configurations. The core performance enhancement of MT6826 lies in its user-friendly self-calibration mode, which compensates for various nonlinearities caused by magnet imperfections and structural mounting deviations, thereby significantly improving INL characteristics.
