Introduction
MAX487CSA is a transceiver IC for RS-485 and RS-422 communication systems. The HM485 supports data rates up to 2.5Mbps for both transmit and receive. The 485 operates in half-duplex mode. It features Driver Enable (DE) and Receiver Enable (RE) pins; when disabled, both driver and receiver outputs are high-impedance. The MAX487CSA incorporates a failsafe function: when in receive mode, the receiver output is driven high if the input is open or shorted. ESD protection: ±1500V HBM. Three-state output, half-duplex bus supporting up to 128 transceivers.
