TPT7481 is a 3.0V~5.5V isolated RS485 transceiver with ±15-kV IEC61000 ESD protection, compliant with RS-485 and RS-422 half-duplex communication standards. TPT7482 is an isolated full-duplex RS485 transceiver. This series features a failsafe receiver that ensures a logic-high output when the receiver's differential inputs (bus pins A/B) are open, shorted, or idle. The series transmitter delivers excellent differential output voltage across the 54-Ω load required by the RS-485 standard. This 20-Mbps device draws extremely low bus current and presents a true 1/8 unit load on the RS-485 bus, allowing up to 256 transceivers to be connected on a network without repeaters. The receiver inputs feature a "full failsafe" design, ensuring a logic-high receiver output when the inputs are floating, shorted, or on a terminated but undriven bus. The TPT748x is available in a WSOP16 package and operates over a temperature range of -40°C to +125°C.
