These 6.5 kW rated transient voltage suppressors in a surface-mount PLAD package are designed to minimize thermal resistance and cumulative heat buildup. These devices clamp dangerous high-voltage short-duration transients such as ESD, radiated RFI, inductive load dump, and secondary effects of lightning strikes, thereby protecting sensitive component areas of circuits. Typical applications include lightning and automotive load dump protection. They effectively comply with the multi-stroke lightning standard RTCA DO-160 Section 22. This space-saving, low-profile package features an all-metal bottom, providing an ultra-low thermal resistance path for heat dissipation to the mounting substrate, keeping junction temperature low. The PLAD6.5KP is available in unidirectional or bidirectional versions with working voltages VWM from 10 V to 48 V. High-reliability screening is available, with product testing compliant with AEC-Q101 requirements.
