The 5KP series is designed to protect sensitive electronic equipment against voltage transients caused by lightning strikes and other transient voltage events.

• 5kW peak pulse capability at 10/1000μs waveform, repetition rate (duty cycle) 0.01%
• Glass passivated chip junction in P600 package
• Fast response time: typically less than 1.0ps from 0V to minimum breakdown voltage
• Typical failure mode is short circuit under overvoltage or overcurrent conditions
• Whisker testing per Table 4a and 4c of JEDEC JESD201A, passes Level 1 and Level 2
• IEC 61000-4-2 ESD 30kV (air), 30kV (contact)
• Low dynamic resistance
• Typical reverse leakage current less than 2μA when minimum breakdown voltage >12V
• Breakdown voltage at junction temperature = breakdown voltage at 25°C × (1 + temperature coefficient × (junction temperature − 25)) (typical temperature coefficient 0.1%)
• UL recognized compound, meets V-0 flammability rating
• Halogen-free and RoHS compliant
• Lead-free E3 indicates second-level interconnect lead-free, terminal finish material is tin (Sn) (IPC/JEDEC J-STD-609A.01)
• Recognized by UL 497B as isolating loop circuit protector
