Introduction
The TPS25946xx series electronic fuses are highly integrated circuit protection and power management solutions in compact packages. These devices require minimal external components to provide multiple protection modes, offering effective defense against overload, short circuit, voltage surges, and excessive inrush current. With integrated back-to-back FETs, the devices allow bidirectional current flow during the ON state while blocking bidirectional current flow during the OFF state, making them ideal for USB OTG (On-The-Go) applications. A single external capacitor can be used to adjust the output slew rate and inrush current. Loads are protected from input overvoltage conditions by cutting off the output when the input exceeds an adjustable overvoltage threshold. These devices respond to output overloads by actively limiting current. Users can adjust the output current limit threshold and the transient overcurrent blanking timer. The current limit control pin also functions as an analog load current monitor. The devices are available in a 2mm×2mm 10-pin HotRod QFN package designed to improve thermal performance and reduce system size.
