Introduction
The MC74VHC1G04 and MC74VHC1GT04 are advanced high-speed CMOS inverters in miniature packages. The MC74VHC1G04 features CMOS-level input thresholds, while the MC74VHC1GT04 features TTL-level thresholds. The input structure provides protection when voltages up to 5.5V are applied, regardless of the supply voltage. This allows the devices to be used for interfacing 5V circuits with 3V circuits. Certain output structures also provide protection when VCC = 0V and when the output voltage exceeds VCC. These input and output structures help prevent device damage caused by mismatches between supply voltage and input/output voltage, battery backup, hot-plug conditions, and similar scenarios.
