Introduction
The UltraMOV Metal Oxide Varistor series is designed for applications requiring high peak surge current ratings and high energy absorption capability. These varistors are primarily intended for AC line voltage applications such as surge protective devices, uninterruptible power supplies, AC power strips, AC power meters, or other products requiring clamping of high transient surge current voltages from lightning, inductive load switching, or capacitor bank switching. The devices feature radial lead packaging in 7 mm, 10 mm, 14 mm, and 20 mm sizes with multiple lead configurations. UltraMOV varistors are manufactured in industry-accepted epoxy packaging, rated for ambient temperatures up to 85°C without derating. The series features laser marking and is available in bulk, taped, or tape-and-reel packaging.
