Introduction
The TCAN1057A-Q1 and TCAN1057AV-Q1 are high-speed Controller Area Network (CAN) transceivers that meet the physical layer requirements of the ISO 11898-2:2016 high-speed CAN specification. These transceivers feature certified Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and are ideal for traditional CAN and CAN FD networks with data rates up to 5 megabits per second (Mbps). These devices can achieve an operating speed of up to 8Mbps in simpler networks. The transceivers support two operating modes: normal mode and silent mode. These transceivers also have many protection and diagnostic features, including Thermal Shutdown (TSD), TXD Dominant Timeout (DTO), and bus fault protection up to ±58V, and the fail-safe behavior is defined under the conditions of undervoltage or floating pins. The transceivers have an integrated level shifter implemented through the V₁₀ pin, which provides internal logic level conversion functionality, allowing the transceiver I/Os to be directly connected to 1.8V, 2.5V, 3.3V, or 5V logic levels.
