Introduction
TCAN1044A-Q1 and TCAN1044AV-Q1 are high-speed CAN transceivers that meet the physical layer requirements of the ISO 11898-2:2016 high-speed CAN specification. These transceivers feature certified EMC performance and are ideal for classic CAN and CAN FD networks with data rates up to 5Mbps. They can operate at up to 8Mbps in simpler network topologies. The TCAN1044AV-Q1 includes internal logic level translation via the V₁₀ pin, allowing direct connection of transceiver I/O to 1.8V, 2.5V, 3.3V, or 5V logic levels. The transceiver supports a low-power standby mode and can be woken up via CAN using the Wake-Up Pattern (WUP) as defined by ISO 11898-2:2016. In addition, the transceiver supports thermal shutdown (TSD), TXD dominant timeout (DTO), power supply undervoltage detection, and ±58V bus fault protection. These devices define fail-safe behavior under power supply undervoltage or floating pin conditions. The transceivers are available in industry-standard SOIC-8 and VSON-8 packages, as well as a space-saving SOT-23 package option.
