Introduction
The TCAN1162x-Q1 is a high-speed CAN SBC compliant with the physical layer requirements of the ISO 11898-2:2016 high-speed CAN specification. The TCAN1162x-Q1 supports classical CAN and CAN FD networks with data rates up to 8 Mbps. The TCAN11623-Q1 and TCAN11625-Q1 both support a wide input supply voltage range and integrate some form of LDO output. The TCAN11625-Q1 features a 5V LDO output (VCCOUT) that internally powers the CAN transceiver and supplies additional current externally. The TCAN11623-Q1 features a 3.3V LDO output (VLDO3) derived from the 5V LDO, supporting external loads. The TCAN1162x-Q1 can selectively enable various power supplies that may exist in the system via the INH output pin, reducing battery current consumption at the system level. This allows power to be removed from all system components except the TCAN1162x-Q1 during ultra-low current sleep mode, while the CAN bus continues to be monitored. Upon detection of a wake-up event, the TCAN1162x-Q1 initiates the system by driving INH high. The TCAN1162x-Q1 supports an ultra-low power standby mode in which the high-speed transmitter and normal receiver are both disabled, while the low-power wake-up receiver enables remote wake-up via the wake-up pattern (WUP) defined by ISO 11898-2:2016. The TCAN1162x-Q1 includes internal logic-level translation via the V₁₀ pin, allowing direct connection to 1.8V, 2.5V, 3.3V, or 5V controllers. The transceiver includes numerous protection and diagnostic features such as undervoltage detection, overvoltage detection, thermal shutdown (TSD), driver dominant timeout (TXD DTO), and bus fault protection up to ±58V. The TCAN1162x-Q1 can selectively enable various power supplies that may exist on the node via the INH output pin, reducing battery current consumption at the system level. This allows power to be removed from all system components except the TCAN1162x-Q1 during ultra-low current sleep state, while the device remains in a low-power state and continues to monitor the CAN bus. Upon detection of a wake-up pattern on the bus or a local wake-up request via the WAKE input, the TCAN1162x-Q1 initiates the node by driving the INH output high.
