RENESAS ICL3237CAZ

The Intersil ICL3237 contains RS-232 transmitters/receivers operating from a 3.0V to 5.5V supply, meeting EIA/TIA-232 and V.28/V.24 specifications even at VCC = 3.0V. Target applications include mobile phones, PDAs, handheld computers, and notebook computers, where low operating power consumption and even lower standby power consumption are critical. An efficient on-chip charge pump combined with a manual shutdown feature reduces standby supply current to 1μA. The small package size and use of small-value, low-ESR capacitors also save board space. A data rate greater than 1Mbps is guaranteed under worst-case load conditions (MBAUD = VCC). This family is fully compatible with 3.3V-only systems, mixed 3.3V and 5.0V systems, and 5.0V-only systems. The ICL3237 is a device with 5 drivers and 3 receivers, and also includes a non-inverting always-active receiver for "wake-up" functionality.
