The TPS6281x-Q1 is a series of pin-to-pin 1A, 2A, 3A, and 4A synchronous step-down DC/DC converters. All devices in this series feature high efficiency and ease of use. The TPS6281x-Q1 series is based on the peak current mode control topology. It is specifically designed for automotive applications such as infotainment systems and advanced driver assistance systems. The low-resistance switches can support a continuous output current of up to 4A in high-temperature environments. Users can externally adjust the switching frequency in the range of 1.8MHz to 4MHz or synchronize it to an external clock within this frequency range. In PWM/PFM mode, the TPS6281x-Q1 automatically enters the power-saving mode under light loads, maintaining high efficiency across the entire load range. The TPS6281x-Q1 can provide an output voltage accuracy of 1% in PWM mode, which facilitates the design of power supplies with high output voltage accuracy. The start-up time can be set or the output voltage provided to an external source can be tracked through the SS/TR pin. This feature enables external sequencing of different power rails and limits the inrush current during start-up. The TPS6281x-Q1 comes in a 3mm × 2mm VQFN package with wettable flanks.
