Introduction
The LM6x4xx-Q1 buck regulator family is an automotive-grade regulator series offering fixed or adjustable output voltage (configurable from 1V to 95% of the expected input voltage). These regulators operate over a wide input voltage range (3V to 36V) with transient tolerance up to 42V.
This family is designed for low EMI. The device features pin-selectable spread spectrum and adjustable SW node rise time. Dual Random Spread Spectrum (DRSS) frequency dithering is set to ±4% (typical), significantly reducing peak emissions through a combination of triangular and pseudo-random modulation, with advanced techniques to minimize output voltage ripple caused by spread spectrum modulation.
The open-drain RESET output with filtering and deglitched release provides accurate system status indication. In automatic mode, the device automatically transitions between fixed-frequency PWM and PFM operating modes, achieving a no-load quiescent current of only 5μA (typical). Electrical characteristics are rated for a junction temperature range of –40°C to +150°C.
