Introduction
AXP203 is a highly integrated power management IC that provides a simple and flexible power solution for applications powered by a single-cell lithium battery (Li-ion or LiPo) requiring multiple power outputs. It fully addresses the increasingly complex demands of application processors for precise power control. The chip integrates an adaptive USB-compatible PWM charger, two buck converters, five LDOs, multiple 12-bit ADCs for voltage/current/temperature measurement, and four configurable GPIO pins. It also features protection circuits including overvoltage/undervoltage protection, over-temperature protection, and overcurrent protection to ensure safe and stable power system operation. Its intelligent power path management function safely and transparently distributes power among USB, external AC adapter, lithium battery, and application load. Even in the absence of a battery or in cases of deep discharge/battery failure, the application can operate normally using only an external power input. AXP203 supports three input modes: external adapter input, USB input, and battery input, with support for a rechargeable backup battery. In addition, the chip is equipped with a two-wire serial interface through which the application processor can enable/disable selected power outputs, program output voltages, and access internal registers and measurement data. The high-precision power measurement capability gives users clearer insight into real-time power consumption, delivering an unprecedented power management experience.
