Introduction
The TMP112A is a high-accuracy, low-power digital temperature sensor designed as a drop-in replacement for NTC/PTC thermistors. It is suitable for extended temperature measurement in communications, computer, consumer electronics, environmental, industrial, and instrumentation applications. Over the normal operating temperature range of -40°C to +125°C, the TMP112A provides temperature accuracy of ≤0.5°C with excellent linearity. An extended temperature measurement mode is available, expanding the sensing range to -55°C to +150°C. The TMP112A is rated for an operating voltage range of 1.4V to 5.5V, with a maximum quiescent current of 10μA (at a conversion rate of 4Hz) across the full operating range. The on-chip 12-bit ADC delivers resolution as fine as 0.0625°C. Housed in a SOT563 package, the TMP112A is compatible with SMBus and I²C interfaces and supports up to four devices on a single bus. The device also features SMBus Alert functionality.
