Slkor SL8402

The SL8402 is an intelligent low-side power switch in a SOT-223 package with integrated protection features. The device operates over a frequency range of DC to 10KHz. The chip integrates overtemperature protection, current limiting, and overvoltage protection circuits. The device can drive various resistive, inductive, and capacitive loads, with drive capability limited by the maximum current driving capacity. The SL8402 features overtemperature protection, which prevents the device from overheating due to SOT-223 overload or inadequate heat dissipation. During thermal shutdown, the device increases the input current at pin IN to indicate a fault condition. Under overtemperature protection, the SL8402 supports auto-restart: once the temperature is detected to have dropped below the thermal hysteresis threshold, the DRAIN channel will reopen. Overvoltage protection activates during load or inductive load turn-off. The drain-source voltage of the power MOSFET is clamped to a preset clamp voltage. The overvoltage protection remains active regardless of the state of input pin IN, even when no voltage is present on it.
