Introduction
The LM3880-Q1 simple power sequencing controller provides the simplest method for controlling the power-up and power-down sequencing of multiple independent voltage rails. By staggering the startup sequence, latch-up conditions or large inrush currents that could affect system reliability can be avoided. This simple sequencer, housed in a 6-pin SOT-23-6 package, contains a precision enable pin and three open-drain output flags. The open-drain output flags allow them to be pulled up to a voltage supply different from the sequencer VDD (as long as they do not exceed the recommended maximum voltage of 0.3V above VDD), enabling connection to ICs that require different enable level signals. When the LM3880-Q1 is enabled, the three output flags are released sequentially after their respective delay times, allowing the connected power supplies to start up. During power-down, the output flags follow the reverse sequence to avoid latch-up conditions. The EPROM feature allows each delay and sequence to be fully adjustable.
