Introduction
The TPS7A37 series low-dropout (LDO) linear regulators use an N-channel metal-oxide-semiconductor (NMOS) pass element in a voltage-follower configuration. This topology offers relatively low sensitivity to output capacitance values and equivalent series resistance (ESR), enabling a wide variety of load configurations. Load transient response is excellent, even when operating with small 1μF ceramic output capacitors. The NMOS topology also enables an extremely low dropout voltage. The TPS7A37 series employs an advanced bipolar complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (BiCMOS) process, delivering high accuracy while maintaining very low dropout voltage and low ground pin current. Current consumption in the disabled state is less than 20nA, making these devices well suited for portable applications. These devices are protected by thermal shutdown and foldback current limiting.
