The TLV717P series of low-dropout linear regulators (LDOs) feature low quiescent current and excellent line and load transient performance, making them suitable for power-sensitive applications. Devices in this series offer a typical accuracy of 0.5%. When the load resistance decreases, the TLV717P series can provide foldback current to reduce the output current. The initial typical value of current foldback is 350 mA; the typical value of the output short-circuit current limit is 40 mA. Additionally, these devices can remain stable with an effective output capacitance of only 0.1 μF. This characteristic allows the use of cost-effective capacitors with high bias voltage and temperature derating. These devices can be regulated to a specific accuracy without an output load. The TLV717P series comes in a 1 mm × 1 mm DQN package, making it ideal for handheld applications. The TLV717P provides an active pull-down circuit for rapid discharge of the output load.
