TI TPS54331D

The TPS54331 is a 28V, 3A non-synchronous step-down converter with an integrated high-side MOSFET featuring low RDS(on). To improve efficiency under light-load conditions, a pulse-skip Eco-mode feature is automatically activated. In addition, the 1μA shutdown supply current makes this device suitable for battery-powered applications. Current-mode control with internal slope compensation simplifies external compensation calculations while reducing component count and allowing the use of ceramic output capacitors. A resistive voltage divider programs the hysteresis of the input undervoltage lockout. An overvoltage transient protection circuit limits voltage overshoot during startup and transient conditions. Cycle-by-cycle current limiting, frequency foldback, and thermal shutdown protect the device and load under overload conditions. The TPS54331 is available in an 8-pin SOIC package and an 8-pin SOPowerPAD package, both internally optimized for improved thermal performance.
