Introduction
The ADS122C04 is a 24-bit precision ADC that integrates multiple features to reduce system cost and component count in small sensor signal measurement applications. The device offers two differential or four single-ended inputs via a flexible input MUX, a low-noise programmable gain amplifier (PGA), two programmable excitation current sources, a voltage reference, an oscillator, and a precision temperature sensor.
The device performs conversions at data rates up to 2000 SPS and settles within a single cycle. For industrial applications in noisy environments, the digital filter provides simultaneous 50 Hz and 60 Hz rejection at a 20 SPS sampling rate. The internal PGA offers gains up to 128, making the ADS122C04 well suited for applications measuring small sensor signals such as RTDs, thermocouples, thermistors, and resistive bridge sensors.
The ADS122C04 features an I²C-compatible 2-wire interface supporting I²C bus speeds up to 1 Mbps. Up to 16 different I²C addresses can be selected via two address pins.
The ADS122C04 is available in a leadless 16-pin WQFN or 16-pin TSSOP package, rated for an operating temperature range of -40°C to +125°C.
