Introduction
The TAS5414C-Q1 and TAS5424C-Q1 are 4-channel digital audio amplifiers designed for automotive head units and external amplifier modules. When powered by a 14.4V supply, they continuously deliver 23W of power to a 4Ω load on 4 channels at less than 1% THD+N. Each channel is also capable of delivering 38W of power to a 2Ω load at 1% THD+N. The TAS5414C-Q1 uses single-ended analog inputs, while the TAS5424C-Q1 employs differential inputs, which enhances immunity to common-mode system noise. The digital pulse-width modulation (PWM) topology of this device significantly improves the efficiency of traditional linear amplifier solutions. In this way, an amplifier with a factor of 10 under typical music playback conditions will reduce power dissipation. This device integrates all the functions required for implementation in demanding OEM applications. These devices feature built-in load diagnostics that can detect and diagnose misconnected outputs, thereby helping to reduce test time during the manufacturing process.
