The TPA6139A2 neither requires a power supply higher than 3.3 V to generate its 25 mW output power nor a split - rail power supply.
The TPA6139A2 is designed using TI's patented DirectPath™ technology. It integrates a charge pump to generate a negative power supply rail, providing a clean, pop - free ground - referenced output. The TPA6139A2 can deliver 25 mW of drive power to a 32 - Ω load and 2 Vrms to a 600 - Ω load. Additionally, DirectPath technology allows the removal of expensive output DC - blocking capacitors.
The device features a fixed - gain single - ended input and a gain - select pin. By using a single resistor on this pin, designers can choose from 13 internally programmable gain settings to match the line driver to the codec output level. Moreover, this device also reduces the number of components and board space.
