Introduction
These octal buffers and line drivers feature the performance of the common 'HC240 series devices and provide a pinout with inputs and outputs on opposite sides of the package. This arrangement greatly facilitates PCB layout and routing. The three-state control gate is a 2-input NOR gate. If either output enable input (OE1 or OE2) is driven high, all eight outputs are placed in a high-impedance state. The 'HC540 device provides inverted data at the outputs.
