Introduction
The ADS7863A is a dual-channel, 12-bit, 2MSPS analog-to-digital converter (ADC). This ADC has four fully differential or six pseudo-differential input channels divided into two groups to achieve high-speed, simultaneous signal acquisition. The inputs to the sample-and-hold (S/H) amplifiers are fully differential, and the differential signals are maintained at the ADC inputs. This architecture provides an excellent common-mode rejection of 72 dB at 100 kHz, which is a critical performance characteristic in noisy environments. This device is pin-compatible with the ADS7861 but offers features such as a programmable reference output, flexible power supply voltages (AVDD and BVDD from 2.7 V to 5.5 V), a three-channel pseudo-differential input multiplexer on each ADC, and several power-saving features. This device is available in a shrink small-outline package (SSOP)-24 and a 4 mm × 4 mm quad flat no-lead (QFN)-24 package. This device is rated for operation over an extended temperature range of -40 °C to +125 °C.
