UCC23513 is an optically compatible single-channel isolated IGBT, SiC, and MOSFET gate driver with 3A peak output current and 5KVRMS reinforced isolation rating. A supply voltage range of up to 33V allows the use of bipolar power supplies to effectively drive SiC power FETs.

The UCC23513 can drive high-side (with external bootstrap diode and capacitor) and low-side power FETs. This device is pin-compatible with traditional optocoupler-based gate drivers while delivering further performance improvements. Key performance highlights include high CMTI, low propagation delay, and low pulse width distortion. Tight process control ensures minimal part-to-part offset. The input stage uses an emulated diode, which offers superior long-term reliability and excellent aging characteristics compared to conventional LEDs. In addition, the insulation material uses a Material Group I molding compound with a comparative tracking index greater than 600V, providing higher dielectric strength and reliability. The UCC23513's high performance and reliability, combined with its wide-body SO-6 package and clearance and creepage distances greater than 8.5mm, make it well-suited for motor drive and inverter applications in solar, DC motor control, industrial power supplies, and appliances. The higher operating temperature opens up opportunities for applications previously unsupported by conventional optocouplers.
