Introduction
The HD3SS3212 is a high-speed bidirectional passive switch configurable as either a multiplexer or demultiplexer, designed for USB Type-C™ applications supporting USB 3.1 Gen 1 and Gen 2 data rates. The device switches between two differential channels (Port B to Port A, or Port C to Port A) via the SEL control pin.
The HD3SS3212 is a general-purpose analog differential passive switch supporting differential signaling with a common-mode voltage range of 0–2V and differential amplitude up to 1800mVpp, suitable for any high-speed interface application. The device employs adaptive tracking to ensure consistent channel performance across the entire common-mode voltage range.
The device offers excellent dynamic characteristics, enabling high-speed switching with minimal signal eye diagram degradation and very low added jitter. Power consumption is <2mW in operating mode and <20μW in shutdown mode (switchable via the OEn pin).
