The LP38690 and LP38692 low-dropout complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) linear regulators feature a small output tolerance (typically 2.5%) and an extremely low dropout voltage (450mV at a load current of 1A and VOUT = 5V). They provide excellent AC performance by using ceramic output capacitors with ultra-low equivalent series resistance (ESR). The wafer-level small-outline no-lead (WSON), small-outline transistor (SOT)-223, and TO-252 packages have low thermal resistance, enabling full-current operation even in high-temperature environments. The use of P-type metal-oxide-semiconductor (PMOS) power transistors means that no DC base drive current is required for biasing. Therefore, the ground pin current can be maintained below 100μA regardless of the load current, input voltage, or operating temperature.
