Introduction
The TPS6120x is a family of low-input-voltage synchronous boost converters. The devices support an input voltage range of 0.3V to 5.5V, providing power solutions for products powered by one, two, or three alkaline, NiCd, or NiMH cells, or single-cell Li-Ion or Li-Polymer batteries. They are also used in fuel cell- or solar cell-powered devices, where the ability to handle low input voltages is critical. When using a single Li-Ion or Li-Polymer cell discharged to 2.6V, the device can deliver up to 600mA of output current at a 5V output.

- Efficiency above 90% under the following conditions:
- 3.3V output at 300mA, 5V output at 600mA (VIN≥3V) when VIN≥2.4V at 3.3V
- Automatic transition between boost and buck conversion modes
- Quiescent current less than 50μA
- Startup into full-load operation at input voltage of 0.5V
- Input voltage range: 0.3V to 5.5V
- Programmable undervoltage lockout threshold
- Output short-circuit protection under all operating conditions
- Fixed and adjustable output voltage options: 1.8V to 5.5V
