Introduction
The TPS43330-Q1 and TPS43332-Q1 contain two current-mode synchronous buck controllers and one voltage-mode boost controller. This device is suitable as a pre-regulator stage that has low Iq requirements and needs to avoid causing damage to the system in case of power interruptions caused by unexpected events. The integrated boost controller enables the device to operate with an input as low as 2V without a drop in the output stage of the buck regulator. At light loads, the buck controllers can be enabled to operate in an automatic low-power mode, consuming only 30μA of quiescent current. The buck converters have independent soft-start functions and power-good indicators. Current foldback in the buck controllers and cycle-by-cycle current limit in the boost controller provide protection for external metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistors (MOSFETs). Users can set the switching frequency in the range of 150kHz to 600kHz or synchronize it to an external clock within the same range. Additionally, the TPS43332-Q1 offers frequency-hopping spread-spectrum operation.
