Introduction
The LP3869x low-dropout CMOS linear regulator features tight output tolerance (2% typical) and ultra-low dropout voltage (250mV at 500mA load current, V<sub>OUT</sub> = 5V), and delivers excellent AC performance with ultra-low ESR ceramic output capacitors. The regulator is available in low thermal resistance WSON, SOT-223, and TO-252 packages, enabling full-current operation even at elevated ambient temperatures. The use of a PMOS power transistor eliminates the need for DC base drive current biasing, keeping ground pin current below 100μA regardless of load current, input voltage, or operating temperature.
