Introduction
The SN65HVD147x series full-duplex transceivers feature the highest ESD protection in the RS-485 product portfolio, supporting ±16kV IEC61000-4-2 contact discharge and greater than ±30kV HBM ESD protection. These RS-485 transceivers feature robust 3.3V drivers and receivers in standard SOIC and MSOP packages. The enhanced receiver hysteresis of SN65HVD147x devices provides immunity to conducted differential noise, while the wide operating temperature range ensures stable operation in harsh environments.
Each of these devices integrates a differential driver and a differential receiver, both powered by a single 3.3V supply. Each driver and receiver has independent input and output pins for full-duplex bus communication design. These devices feature a wide common-mode voltage range, making them well-suited for multipoint applications over long cables.
The SN65HVD1471, SN65HVD1474, and SN65HVD1477 devices are fully enabled without external enable pins.
The SN65HVD1470, SN65HVD1473, and SN65HVD1476 devices feature active-high driver enable and active-low receiver enable. Disabling the driver and receiver achieves a low standby current of less than 5µA.
These devices are rated for an operating temperature range of -40°C to 125°C.
