Introduction
The SNx4HC640 is an octal bus transceiver with 3-state outputs. All eight channels are controlled by a direction (DIR) pin and an output enable (OE) pin. These octal bus transceivers are designed for asynchronous bidirectional communication between data buses. The devices transfer data from bus A to bus B or from bus B to bus A, depending on the logic level at the direction control (DIR) input. The output enable (OE) input can be used to disable the device, effectively isolating the buses.
