Powered by a 3V to 5.5V VCC supply, data rate up to 1Mbit/s, low supply current (300 μA typical), external capacitors 4×0.1 μF, accepts 5V logic inputs with 3.3V supply, latch-up performance exceeding 100mA, compliant with JESD 78 Class II specifications, ESD protection on RS-232 pins (±15kV Human Body Model (HBM), ±15kV IEC 61000-4-2 air-gap discharge, ±8kV IEC 61000-4-2 contact discharge). The SN65C3232E and SN75C3232E consist of two line drivers, two line receivers, and a dual charge pump circuit, featuring pin-to-pin (serial port connection pins, including GND) ±15kV ESD protection. These devices provide an electrical interface between asynchronous communication controllers and serial port connectors. The charge pump and four small external capacitors support operation from a single 3V to 5.5V supply. These devices operate at data signaling rates up to 1Mbit/s, with driver output slew rates of 14V/μs to 150V/μs.
