Introduction
The LDC1101 is a 1.8V to 3.3V, high-resolution inductance-to-digital converter for short-range, high-speed, contactless sensing of position, rotation, or motion, enabling reliable and accurate measurements even in the presence of dirt or dust, making it ideal for outdoor or harsh environments. The LDC1101 features a dual inductive measurement core that performs >150 ksps 16-bit Rp and L measurements while simultaneously delivering high-resolution L measurements with up to 24-bit resolution at sample rates exceeding 180 ksps. The LDC1101 includes a threshold comparison function that can be dynamically updated while the device is operating. Inductive sensing technology enables high-precision measurement of linear/angular position, displacement, motion, compression, vibration, metal composition, and many other applications. It delivers superior performance and reliability at a lower cost than competing solutions. The LDC1101 provides these inductive sensing advantages in a compact 3mm×3mm 10-pin VSON package. A microcontroller can easily configure the LDC1101 using a 4-pin SPI interface.
