Introduction
The INA199 series of voltage-output, current shunt monitors (also known as current sense amplifiers) are commonly used for overcurrent protection, precise current measurement for system optimization, or closed-loop feedback circuits. These devices can sense the voltage drop across a shunt resistor at a common-mode voltage ranging from –0.3V to 26V, independent of the supply voltage. There are three fixed gains available: 50V/V, 100V/V, and 200V/V. The series uses a zero-drift architecture with low offset, enabling it to maintain a maximum voltage drop across the shunt resistor as low as 10mV full-scale during current sensing. These devices are powered by a single supply voltage from 2.7V to 26V and consume a maximum supply current of 100μA. All versions are rated for an operating temperature range of -40°C to 125°C and are available in two packages: SC70-6 and thin UQFN-10.
