Introduction
The TPS22929D is a small, ultra-low rON load switch with controlled turn-on. The device includes a P-channel MOSFET that operates over an input voltage range of 1.4V to 5.5V. The switch is controlled by an ON/OFF input (ON) that can interface directly with low-voltage control signals. The TPS22929D is active-high. The TPS22929D integrates a 150Ω on-chip load resistor for fast output discharge when the switch is turned off. The rise time is internally controlled to prevent inrush current. In the event of a reverse voltage condition, the TPS22929D provides a circuit breaker function by latching off the power switch. When the output voltage (VOUT) is driven above the input (VIN), an internal reverse voltage comparator turns off the power switch to quickly (typically 10μs) block current from flowing to the input side of the switch. Reverse current blocking remains active even when the power switch is off. Additionally, if the input voltage falls too low, undervoltage lockout (UVLO) protection turns off the switch. The TPS22929D is offered in a space-saving 6-pin SOT23 package, with an operating temperature range of -40°C to 85°C under natural convection conditions.
