Introduction
The AD8628 series represents a new generation of low noise op-amps, offering excellent DC accuracy and AC performance. Rail-to-rail input and output, low offset (2μV), low noise (6nV/√Hz), 600μA quiescent current, and 6MHz bandwidth make these devices well suited for a wide range of precision and portable applications. In addition, the devices feature a wide supply range (2V to 5.5V) and excellent power supply rejection, making them suitable for applications powered directly from batteries without regulation. The AD8628ARTZ (single), AD8629ARZ-MS (dual), and AD8630ARZ-MS (quad) op-amp series operate over a temperature range of -25°C to +125°C. The AD8628ARTZ-MS, AD8629ARZ-MS/AD8630ARZ-MS devices are low noise, unity-gain stable, rail-to-rail precision op-amps operating from a single supply voltage of 2V to 5.5V (±1V to ±2.75V). A supply voltage exceeding 6V absolute maximum may permanently damage the amplifier. Rail-to-rail input and output swing significantly increases dynamic range, especially in low supply applications. Good layout practice requires a 0.1μF bypass capacitor connected as close as possible to the supply pins. The AD8628ARTZ-MS, AD8629ARZ-MS/AD8630ARZ-MS devices feature internal phase reversal protection. Many op-amps exhibit phase reversal when the input exceeds the linear common-mode range. This condition most commonly occurs in noninverting circuits, where an input beyond the specified common-mode voltage range causes the output to invert to the opposite rail. The inputs of the AD8628ARTZ-MS, AD8629ARZ-MS/AD8630ARZ-MS are protected against phase reversal due to common-mode overvoltage. Instead, the appropriate rail clamps the output voltage.
