Introduction
The DRV8837 provides an integrated motor driver solution for cameras, consumer products, toys, and other low-voltage or battery-powered motion control applications. The device can drive one DC motor or other devices such as solenoids. The output driver block consists of N-channel power MOSFETs configured as an H-bridge for driving motor windings. An integrated charge pump generates the required gate drive voltage. The device is capable of providing up to 1.8A of output current. Its motor supply voltage input range is 0V to 12V, and the logic supply voltage input range is 1.8V to 7.0V. It features a PWM input interface compatible with industry-standard devices. The device offers an ultra-low-power standby mode with a standby current of 120nA. Internal shutdown functions integrate overcurrent protection, short-circuit protection, undervoltage lockout, and thermal shutdown. The chip is housed in a small DFN2X2-8 package with an exposed thermal pad for effective heat dissipation.
