Introduction
The SN74HC/HCT74 are dual positive-edge-triggered D-type flip-flops. They feature individual data (nD), clock (nCP), set (nSD), and reset (nRD) inputs, along with complementary nQ and nQ outputs. Data present at the nD input that meets the setup and hold time requirements relative to the low-to-high clock transition is stored in the flip-flop and appears at the nQ output. Input clamping diodes are included, enabling the use of current-limiting resistors to interface inputs to voltages exceeding VCC.
