Introduction
AH1899A is a high-sensitivity, ultra-low-power omnipolar Hall-effect switch IC with internal pull-up and pull-down capability. Designed for portable and battery-powered devices such as mobile phones and portable PCs. Average supply current is only 0.95μA at 1.2V and 1.1μA at 1.8V. To support portable devices, the AH1899A operates over a supply range of 1.1V to 2.0V and employs a chopper clock system to minimize power consumption. To reduce PCB space, the AH1899A is available in a compact, thin X2-DFN1010-4 (Type B) package. The output activates in the presence of either a north or south magnetic pole of sufficient field strength. When the magnetic flux density (B) perpendicular to the package exceeds the operate point (BOP), the output turns on (pulls low). When B falls below the release point (BRP), the output turns off. In the absence of a magnetic field, the output remains off.
Features
- Omnipolar operation (north or south pole)
- Supply voltage 1.1V to 2.0V
- Ultra-low power operation
- Chopper-stabilized design provides: superior temperature stability, minimal switching point drift, enhanced resistance to physical stress
- No external pull-up resistor required
- Good RF noise immunity
- Operating temperature -40°C to +85°C
- Small, thin X2-DFN1010-4 (Type B) package
- Fully lead-free and fully RoHS compliant, halogen- and antimony-free, "Green" device
Applications
- Lid or display panel switch for portable PCs
- Open/close detection for mobile phones
- Leather case or cover detection for mobile phones and tablets
- Digital still cameras, camcorders, and handheld game consoles
- Non-contact switches
